The Westinghouse Sidemount Plus Fan Box allows you to safely install your ceiling fan or lighting fixture without having to access attic space. The box's design provides secure attachment to an existing ceiling joist. It is ideal for installation during new construction or remodeling, and it can also be installed in finished ceilings through a hole large enough to fit the box.

To install the Sidemount Plus in a finished ceiling, simply mount the bracket to a joist through a 4-inch hole in the drywall and then pull the wire into the box and remount the box to the bracket. In addition, the sidemount bracket is removable for easy replacement of existing nail-on boxes without attic access.

Arriving with two Romex clamps, all necessary mounting hardware, and instructions to get the job done right the first time, the Sidemount Plus Fan Box also features a Saf-T-Cap to protect the bolts and wires during drywall installation and painting.

UL-Listed Support Box Works with All Models of Ceiling Fans
Featuring a heavy-duty, all-metal 1-1/2-inch-deep electrical box with 15-1/2-cubic-inch capacity, dual mounting capabilities (for lightweight lighting fixtures or ceiling fans and chandeliers), and three knockouts for Conduit or Romex, the Sidemount Plus works with any model of ceiling fan.

The Sidemount Plus Fan Box is UL listed for fixture support of 70 pounds or less and is acceptable for fan support of 70 pounds or less. It meets or exceeds UL standards regarding exposed threads within the box, and it meets or exceeds NEC safety codes.
